Dair Mac Gealach is a foundling who was left at the Hunters’ Guild as a small child. His half-fae nature was evident even at a young age, for his skin was a woodsy brown and his eyes an intense orange, like autumn leaves. The note that was left with him said only that he was the son of “Eileen” and a human hunter. He grew up surrounded by humans, half-fae and half-fel, curious about his own heritage yet also wary of learning too much. Once he grew old enough and demonstrated a talent for magic, the Masters decided to teach him - a frustrating exercise, as while he showed an uncanny aptitude form some magics, he proved woefully inept with others.

Dair is a tall and fairly handsome lad with angular ears and dark brown skin. At a glance he looks like a brown-skinned human, but upon closer inspection his skin resembles wood (although it feels no different from any other human’s skin) and his eyes are strange - like those of an animal, the sclera is barely visible, and the iris resembles the concentric growth rings of a tree, fading from brown to orange around the pupil. His hair is shaggy and walnut-brown, and he has a perpetually unshaven, scruffy look.

He is a hard worker who prefers animals to people, as they are straightforward and honest; he worries that others are gossiping about him behind their smiles.
