[https://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/In_The_Shadow_of_the_Spire:Main_Page Return to Main Page] This page contains information for use by Broudenn Goldbeard during the campaign. =Facts= Confirmed facts Broudenn knows about Ptolus. ===Dwarvenhearth=== Dwarvenhearth is a vast underground city, once the home of ten thousand Stonemight dwarves. It covers an area larger than most of the districts in the surface city and contains multiple levels. The entire complex comprises many thousands of chambers and passages, ranging from small, twenty-foot-square storehouses to open plazas hundreds of feet wide to the gargantuan Cathedral Cavern, more than a thousand feet long. The guilt of the Stonelost dwarves for the abandonment of their sacred city remains strong even today. They consider themselves unworthy of Dwarvenhearth and await some event that might allow them to redeem themselves as a race. A dwarf will not wish to enter Dwarvenhearth without an extremely good reason, as doing so is tantamount to sacrilege against everything dwarves hold holy. That said, if a group of adventurers is determined to go, their dwarf friend might consider it better to accompany them rather than let them go in unescorted, so as to limit the amount of damage they inflict within the sacred walls. =Rumors= Unconfirmed rumors Broudenn has heard about Ptolus. ===Dwarvenhearth=== One of the noble families -- the Balacazars, perhaps -- has recently obtained a Dwarvenhearth key (which gives the wielder a way to enter Dwarvenhearth), and seeks to sell it to the highest bidder. ===The Shuul=== There is a group in Ptolus known as the Shuul, dedicated to restoring and advancing the reign of science and reason to the Empire. They work to study ancient technology and restore technologies that were more advanced a century ago, like firearms, printing presses, steam engines and various clockwork wonders.
