==Description== A tall, broad-shouldered youth with a military crew cut and haunted eyes. He generally has a cigarette sitting on his lower lip and dresses in army fatigues. ==History== Douglas grew up with a most unusual best friend. His imaginary friend was a boy like himself but a year or two older who just happened to be missing his head. Douglas would play with Rick the Headless as he called him during the weekends and it was a concerning situation for his parents. A situation that became even more concerning when Doug led them to Rick's decaying skeleton hidden away in the nearby woods. This led to the arrest of the murderer, a nearby farmer, and years of therapy for Doug. He never stopped seeing ghosts but he stopped acknowledging them. If he was going to be crazy, he would keep it to himself. Doug grew up to be a true patriot and the darling of his small town. He was an ace quarterback in high school, dated the prettiest girl in school, and made his parents proud with half-way decent grades. Doug eagerly signed up for the army when a recruiter came by. He wanted to do his part for America, Freedom, and God. Unfortunately for Doug, the reality of war was much more brutal. He threw himself into military training and became an armored personnel carrier driver. He was known for being a crackshot with a rifle and earned a purple heart in his first fight when he was shot in the leg saving a wounded soldier. The War had many heroes, some lauded and some not. Doug was just another soldier doing the best he could--until that is he had his brains splattered all over the wheel of his APC. Doug was transporting soldiers in Sicily when the truck was hit by a bomb, killing everyone. He woke in a dark place, knowing he was already dead. At first he accepted his fate, until he caught a glimpse of what awaited. He made a deal with the terrifying, chain-bound monstrosity that offered one. "Live again. Let me in." Doug awoke in a Sicilian forest, the army having presumed him and his team dead. When he wandered back to civilization, he learned of this and chose to head back home to try and fix things. He wanted to see his family, his town again. While on his way back via Paris, he was intercepted by OSS and was told that the country needed him. The patriotic soldier couldn't say no to this and turned his now haunted eyes to a new task. ==The Geist== The monster dwelling in Douglas's body is known as the Stormbound. It's a creature from nearly 200 years ago, having died on a Prussian Naval vessel due to betrayal. The captain's corpse was never found and his murder never discovered. The Stormbound appears as a mass of rusted chains wrapped around a corpse wrapped in ragged sailcloth. In place of a head it has a black void filled with lightning and stormclouds. An eerie cold radiates from him, causing breath to fog the air when it appears. ==The Sheet== [https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8ki50hp6YjtY1pKS19TQnU3Y1E/view Douglas's character sheet]
