Akimitsu can manipulate light around him, and form it into the shape of illusions to mislead and misdirect his foes. He can also form a sword out of "solid" light, that is deadly but also surprisingly fragile. Finally, his Steed is [[Akimitsu_Hoshi|Hoshi]], an irascible mule.

== Background ==

Growing up, Akimitsu wasn’t like the other girls at school. Mostly because he was a guy, which he figured out in his second year of junior high. Once that was taken care of, though, he found he still didn’t fit in with his classmates. He did well at sports, passably on tests, and got on swimmingly with the other kids, but Akimitsu struggled to find a place that felt like he belonged.

One evening, at a karaoke session with friends, he was surprised to receive a standing ovation after his turn. Sure, they were easily-impressed teens, but it still felt great in that moment, being the centre of attention and getting everyone’s praise. Akimitsu thought about the idols that were dominating Japan’s pop culture, and right there everything clicked into place: he had a goal at last, something that could finally be his.

He had the lucks, and the performing instincts, to succeed, but the industry isn’t nearly as kind as to let anyone with talent through the doors. Right now, Akimitsu is performing in whatever venue he can find, from crappy bars that he’d be kicked out of if they knew his age, to busking on street corners. Anything to get his name out there, until the right talent scout finds him and offers him a ticket to the big leagues.

Other people might be discouraged by having to resort to this, to spending evenings performing for pennies while trying to juggle university work. But Akimitsu is nothing if not self-assured, and he doesn’t mind perservering through this, since he truly believes success is just around the corner.
