Commander tak Kheblos is from a dedicated Starfleet family, and can trace his family's service to its earliest days. As such he has a lot to live up to and has high standards for both himself and his staff. He distinguished himself during the Dominion War, earning commendations and a battlefield promotion when his Chief on the USS Ivanova was killed in action. He served out the rest of the war in that role, and met [[Lem Anaphis]] when the Bojoran was assigned to the ship after the loss of the USS Kittiwake. Later he was posted to the Eclipse to serve as Security Chief. As a Tellarite he is argumentative by nature, although not malicious or belligerent with it. He expects a certain amount of rigour in the evidence presented by his subordinates - while he might let a hunch fly from someone with a proven track record, he expects it to lead to results. His healthy scepticism to things that can't be proven means he really doesn't understand Anaphis' faith in the Prophets - after all, aren't they just aliens? He has more than once tried to draw the Bajoran into a debate on this fact, only to be met with a smile and "Why can't they be both?"
