One of the main superheroic forces in New York City, the story of the Justice Family begins with Johnny Justice. By his real name Jonathan Luciano, he was among the first generation of mutants back in the 1920s. He was also among the first to follow the Avatar's example, becoming the super-strong hero Johnny Justice. He was decorated for his service in WWII, and was one of the great heroes on NYC back in that era. His children and grandchildren have followed his lead, and the "Justice Family" has, as such, always played an important part in the protection of the city.

The Justice Family was hit hard by the battle of Jerusalem - several of its members were killed by the Man of Might. Nevertheless, they still play the same central role as before.
