Editing Justice Lords/Billy Marvel

The Rock of Eternity was gone, the Wizard Shazam was dead. In one fell swoop Darkseid had destroyed everything Mary Marvel had, everything she cared about. Well not everything, she had her son. Born after the Final Crisis, born into world gone mad, but she had a plan. The Rock of Eternity was destroyed, but not completely gone. The core, the essence of it still remained. It was out there somewhere, waiting. Waiting for her and Billy. She would find it and give her Son the Power of Shazam!!

Billy Marvel was born just after the end of the world. Mostly it was just him and his Mom. Searching through the ashes of the world for… something. She could never really explain it to him. Some rock from Eternity… or something. Billy was never the best listener. They lived on the road, following Mary’s obsession. Until just after Billy’s 14th birthday, when they found it. It didn’t look like much to Billy, just a slightly glowing boulder, but Mary knew. And apparently so did the men following them. All Billy remembers is his Mom dragging him over to touch the silly rock and then a gunshot. He saw his Mother collapse and turned in time to see men approaching. There was another shot and he was flung back against the boulder. Then a sound like a clap of thunder and an explosion. When Billy woke up the boulder was a pile of rubble and his Mom was dead. The men where gone, but Billy was changed he had the power of SHAZAM!
