Kel is a slicer of the criminal persuasion, originally of Corellia, which helped contribute to his willingness to take an op that would sting a major Imperial bigwig. It was successful until the sour aftermath. Namely, certain utter idiots who shouldn't be named who were indiscreet with their earnings, and then decided to flip desperately to the Imperials in the notion that it could save themselves.

Kel got out just ahead of the Imps by sudden passage on a free trader, but said Moff type apparently made him a noted target out of pique. Kel's trip to the station was driven by the (mis)understanding that there were people there who could hide/protect him from the Imps - for a price, undoubtedly, but these sorts of things weren't free, were they?
