The LAS Monumental is quite possibly the largest air boat ever built, measuring nearly 900 feet long and using the equivalent of six first-class air boats' airbags to lift nearly five hundred people into the sky. It is funded and operated by the White Star Consortium, a group of Haslanti companies with a vested interest in the development of airships for civilian use. As a prototype of sorts, the Monumental was developed as a people carrier, with an emphasis on maximum comfort; that said, some tickets for second-class and steerage space have been sold, if only to allow the Consortium to gain public support by advertising air travel as being affordable for the masses.
