[[Landsoftheblacksea:Main_Page/realms/athervon#Settlements | '''<< Back to Athervon''']] [[File:Orveaux 002.jpg|thumb|right|sub|Orveaux]] == Statistics == Population: 812 townsfolk; 100 garrison soldiers; 252 buildings Allegiance: Kingdom of Athervon, Duc de la Domaine Sud, Comte du Maussis Province Government: Town Council; Sherif du Maussis Province collects taxes and presides over trials twice per year Ruler(s): Chief Alderman of Asala; Chevalier Grande du Maussis Province (Para) Military: Town Watch (12 volunteers); led by a permanent captain who is (or was) a professional soldier. == Places of Interest == The Great Oak – a huge tree in the north of the town; despite the large number of battles and sieges the town has experienced, the tree has never fallen, been cut down, or burned. It is heavily scarred and damaged, but still flourishes. The local legend says that so long as the tree lives, Orveaux will stand, and so long as Orveaux stands, the Kingdom will not fall. King’s Falls - Queen’s Falls - Prince’s Falls - Dukes Fall - The Fall - The Shrine - The road is joined by a tertiary track leading north, into the surrounding plains and farmlands. Directly across from this track, on the south side of the road, is a shrine of some kind, fashioned of stone and wood. Closer inspection reveals it holds a statue of St. Siveri Montoliu, the Patron of Travelers. He stands in the shrine with upturned hands cupped, on which you can drop a coin for good fortune.
