== Background ==
Jon is of Scottish-Greek descent, his parents met in Melbourne. They are a breakaway sprig of the Wellings [yes, ''those'' Wellings] clan [through his mother]. Jon was the last of nine children [six elder brothers and two sisters] and grew up in the affluent regions surrounding Byron Bay and Sydney. He grew up as a well-heeled member of society, but after a stint in the military, ended up in some pretty obscure parts of the world on some endless quest for self-understanding. The letter came as a complete surprise and he has made his way to the house to learn more about his history rather than looking for an inheritance.
