Maggie, human witch When the Kuo-Toa took the twins, Maggie's husband, knowing he could never bring them back, left Maggie black, blue and homeless. He took the eldest with him, the boy. She couldn't stay in town because they all accused her of having taken her lover to the Sambaqui. Hah! Lover! That was among the kindest of things they said of her in those days. It was only the following winter that the woman found her feet again, taken in by one of the wise women who live in the vicinity of Odd Arbage. Now that Maggie has grown accustomed to her new life, and now that her son, a grown lad, has taken to sneaking away to see her, that bastard Baron has taken the boy off with him, and most likely got him killed. Maggie isn't too surprised, though - one of the tales was that it was the Old Baron who had begot the boy on her, and the Younger Baron, well, his head was filled with such rubbish.
