Upon reaching 100, Tomte Barbaloot, as a dwarven friend often called him, decided to become an adventurer.  The practical skills of his father's trade, combined with training in the Art provided by his mother, seemed to be suitable preparation for such a life.  Hearing countless tales of the City of Splendors, his first move was to board a riverboat destined for Waterdeep via the River Rauvin.  Though the voyage was relatively uneventful, Tomte's unique contributions during a particular encounter on the edge of the Trollmoors, using a bag of marbles to disrupt the footing of a boarding party of orcs, earned him his nickname.  That, and his ability to put the story of the encounter to a rousing drinking song, also earned Tomte the respect and admiration of his crewmates.

Now that he has reached Waterdeep, Tomte has set his sights on exploring every inch of the city.  Though the task seems daunting, he will, like any good gnome, most likely make only mild progress before some other adventure catches his eye.
