Editing Meldings

A magical phenomina where two or more creatures are transformed into the same number of hybrid creatures.  The melding of a wolf and a horse for instance is believed to have been the origin of [[Wargs]].  The creatures retain their original gender so those wishing to breed their new creations generally meld a male and female.  Melding sentient creatures is a crime in almost all jurisdictions without explicit license and usually even with it.  Doing so without the consent of all sentient parties is also an offence against the rules of all respectable mage guilds and similar organisations.  Guilds will often pursue offenders with rigour not to say violence, even across dangerous terrain and international borders.  It is not uncommon for less powerful guilds to simply offer a "Dead or alive" reward for bringing the offender before them.
