== Princess Mereen Leelal Dagobah ==

Princess-Royal Mereen Leelal Dagoba is the youngest of three siblings and the only daughter of His Eminence, Fen Atchafalaya Dagobah, High King of Quagmeera. Her brothers are Lord-Prince Carr, oldest child and heir to the throne and Prince-Baron Sudd her brilliant but ever scheming middle brother.

The Quagmerans are, shall we say, a primitive people. To call them a bloodthirsty, warlike, barbaric & savage lot would be rather the understatement. Now most space faring cultures would be inclined to overlook them entirely if not for one teeny-tiny little thing. You see Quagmeera has the misfortune of being one of the only sources, if not the only source, of naturally occurring las-crystals in the known universe. And it's this invaluable resource that first brought Quagmeera to the attention of the Empress Mechanica.

Officially Quagmeera is listed in the star charts as a member world of the Mechanix Imperium, this however is not by choice of the Quagmeerans themselves. In order to secure the planet's supply of las-crystals Mechanica sent an entire fleet of Automen to occupy the planet along with a host of Mechanix functionaries to oversee the planet's subjection including an Imperial Governor to serve as a "Cultural Advisor" and "Liason" between the High King's court and the Imperial throne.

Now to be fair to Mechanica, she ruled with a light hand (by her own standards anyway). As long as the supply of las-crystals was uninterrupted the Empress was content to leave the primitive world of Quagmeera more or less to its own devices. That all changed however once the King's brother, Ducal-Prince Carr (after whom Mereen's eldest brother is named) led a rebellion against the Empress, which resulted in the death of the Imperial Governor.

Ducal-Prince Carr was arrested. Put on trial for treason. And sentenced to life at hard labor in the volcanic mines of the prison planet of Caldera. Mereen was taken captive, transported to Mechanix Prime where she was kept as a political prisoner in order to ensure the continued compliance of her father the High King. The King or his people step out of line again and Mereen dies.

Mereen was inprisoned within Mechanica's Imperial Menagerie. The Princess-Royal of Quagmeera was a zoo exhibit and kept by Mechanica as nothing more than an exotic pet. When not housed in her habitat, Mereen was to be found collared and leashed to the Imperal throne. In this way Mereen was not only a political prisoner but a piece of propaganda, a warning to all the other worlds of the Imperium.

Enter Commander Kat Cartwright, who on a daring mission to obtain the plans of a fantastic new weapon, boarded the Imperial Flagship, The Rule of Steel and upon discovering the inprisoned Princess released her from her captivity. Mereen has been Kat's constant and beloved companion ever since. As far as the Empress is concerned, Kat Cartwright stole her dog and she wants it back - NOW!! The Empress will stop at nothing to recapture Mereen. And she has dispatched bounty hunters as well as her own Imperial Game Wardens throughout known space to hunt down and return the Savage Beauty to her habitat inside Mechanica's menagerie.

Understandably, Mereen is not very keen on that idea.

''Weir Witch'' - Because I am '''The Princess-Royal of Quagmeera''', once per scene I may spend a fate point in order to place the Aspect '''Controlled''' on any animal or small group of animals (flock, pack, pride, school, swarm or small herd). This is automatic--no roll needed. The aspect is free-taggable the first time and lasts for the entire scene or until I dispel it. I must be able to physically see the animal or animals to be controlled. This ability does not work if I am blindfolded or otherwise visually impaired.

'''Child of Quagmeera:''' The savage primitives of Quagmeera are renown throughout the Imperium for their ability to move quickly and quietly through the impenetrable swamplands of their home world as they stalk and track dangerous prey. You may roll Lore instead of Stealth whenever you are in the wilderness, and may also roll Lore instead of Investigate for tracking in those areas.

 +
'''Spear Maiden of the Mire:''' You are trained in the brutal ways of the fearsome Marsh Warriors of Quagmeera. +2 to Fight rolls when using the traditional arms of a Quagmeeri fighter.

Return to [[Kat Cartwright and the Rocketeers]]

'''Weir Witch:''' As a daughter of House Dagobah you can not only communicate with animals but also have the power to control them out right as well. Once per scene you may spend a fate point to place the aspect Controlled on an animal or small group of animals (flock, pack, pride, school, swarm or small herd etc). This is automatic--no roll needed. The aspect is free-taggable by you the first time and lasts for the entire scene or until you dispel it. You must be able to physically see the animal or animals to be controlled. This ability does not work if blindfolded or otherwise visually impaired.
