* Diplomacy checks where a higher skill, while not assuring success, allow greater levels of possible success than lower lovels would otherwise allow; Basically raing the DC, but allowing for much better results. 
** Example: A DC 15 Diplomacy check to the King might get a friend released from jail, where a DC 25 might get a royal pardon as well, and a 35 might get compensation for false imprisonment, and a 45 might also get the King to agree to listen to your proposal about founding a new town, etc.
