The oldest son of immigrant field workers, Milos was born in Long Beach, California and worked in the fields as a child, picking apples alongside his father to help support the family. The Wiazowski family is a family of sacrifice, saving, planning, and investing for the future. Like many other immigrants, Milos' father came to this country with little more than the shirt on his back. Milos’s father believed that through hard work, his family could share the American Dream. Milos graduated from Bellflower High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the of California at Berkeley. He earned his law degree from Hastings School of Law. Wiazowski took the ideas he learned in college back to the small family farm. Because of his family's dedication and commitment to hard work, Milos Wiazowski has seen that small farm grow from a half acre of apples into a farm that now works over 6,000 acres and employs over 250 people and ships produce all over the world. As part of the family farm's growth, Milos' father applied for a building permit to erect a new 35,000 square foot cooling facility. After months of wading through the city’s bureaucracy, Milos grew disillusioned with the lack of customer service that government had provided him and ran for, and won, a position on the Long Beach City Council at the young age of 26. During his tenure Milos was named Hero of the Taxpayer by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and led the charge to see seat belts in school busses. He also realized that politics was his true calling and, two years later, in 1995, ran for the California State Assembly on the Republican ticket. During his campaign, Milos made very simple promises, “I will never forget where I come from, I will never forget whose money government spends - it’s the people’s money and I will never let the people down.” He won that seat and Milos’ track record has proven that he is a man of his word and there is no doubt that he would have kept those promises to the people of California. In three terms worked with the Governor to reform the antiquated California Workers' Compensation System. Sensitive to the major problems facing Californians, he fought the reckless overspending that has led to record deficits, worked towards returning California’s educational system to its historic position as the nation’s leader and pursued reforms to free California’s small businesses from needless regulations that stifle job creation and innovation. In addition, Wiazowski strived to ensure that California’s cities and counties regain the flexibility needed to provide for the priorities of their individual communities. Senator Wiazowski's consistently demonstrated leadership in the California State Legislature. He served as Assistant Republican Leader, Republican Caucus Whip, and Vice Chair of the Assembly Natural Resources and Assembly Judiciary committees. In addition, he earned high marks for his years of service as the Vice Chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee. In this capacity, he fought for a streamlined budget process that emphasized accountability and results. This leadership won him praise not only from his colleagues but also from the community. He has received several awards, including the Legislator of the Year Award from the University of California, the Legislator of the Year Award from the California Charter Schools Association, the Distinguished Service Award from the Black Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, the Legislator of the Year Award from the Orange County League of Cities, the Legislator of the Year Award from the Republican Party of Orange County, the Orange County Committee for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities Elected Official of the Year Award, the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year Award, and the Spotlight Award from the Regional Centers of Orange County for outstanding service to people with developmental disabilities. Because of this commitment, Wiazowski was, in 2000, able to win the 33rd district's seat in the State Senate, where he served but briefly before September 11, 2001. Senator Milos Wiazowski remained committed to the fundamental values he was raised on of family, fiscal responsibility, personal accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic. These guiding principles have allowed him to achieve what Sacramento people call Sueño Americano (The American Dream) and he continues to work hard to provide others with the opportunity to share in that dream. In addition to being a farmer and a Senator, Milos was an instrument rated multi engine pilot. Milos made his home in upper California on the family ranch with his wife, Laura, and their four beautiful children Ericka, Nicolas, Marcus and Garret. * In the days since The Survivors' escape from Celera's Seattle campus, Milos has been busy. He's inserted himself into the good graces of Brian Jaffe's old boss, Senator Lincoln Chafee, and has been influential in keeping the potential damage of the Thomas Reagan case in check. Although a skilled lawyer and politician, the suspicion is that he has done both of these things through the use of his powers, which include the ability to control the minds of those he touches. ** Recent events have revealed that Milos has been busier than previously thought. On the morning of October 11, Milos announced that he had bought out King Farm, an enclosed, 430 acre neo-traditional planned community within the Rockville, MD city limits, to use as a special home for the Survivors. In what would later come to be called the "Godlike Convocation," Milos called on his fellows of all kinds to change the world in their image and "walk as gods." Milos already has the support of financiers, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and several celebrities, including prominent actors and Scientologists Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. He has also gotten several Survivors to support this plan, including Christopher Clarkson and Pastor Allen Ramey. ** Later that same week, Julie Young informed the Main Cast that Milos had chosen to represent her husband, Daniel in their up-coming divorce proceedings. ---- the AMERICAN GODS
