If you had to describe Mitsuki in one word, it would probably be 'unremarkable'. That, or 'who?'. She did well at school, but was never the best or brightest. She worked hard, but kept her head down. Her family aren't wealthy, but they aren't struggling either. She has a small circle of friends, within which she slots easily into 'the quiet one'. She passed the entrance exams for Hisashiro University, where she's studying a mixed humanities course. She likes long walks, old books, dancing, cherry blossom season, and royal milk tea. She's been an extra in a couple of the film club's projects, but she's never had any lines. She's had a part-time job as a shrine maiden at Myoken Shrine since high school...

...and that was where her life became a little more remarkable. Oh, she learned all the usual duties along with the other girls. Cleaning, dances, purification rituals. But the only priestess at the shrine, a blind woman older than any of the visiting monks, seemed to take an interest in her and made sure she attended special lessons as well. History, mythology, divination, protection. Until she was ready to learn about the dark forces that threatened the world, and the Knights and Steeds who opposed them. One of her ancestors had been a Knight, and the time was fast approaching when more would be called.
