== Background ==
Mordecai was born among the teeming masses at the base of the spires of his homeworld. Born among the low-class, Mordecai quickly fell into one of many Hive Gangs, and spent his life fighting from the moment he could shoot straight. Once his ability as psyker showed itself, he did what was expected of him, and was taken by one of the Blackships. Unfortunately this ship had a Geller field failure, and Mordecai was forced to watch every way an unfortunate psyker could meet his end at the hands of the warp. He survival was nothing short of miraculous, and because of this he applied himself fully to serving the Emperor with his abilities, as a way to repay the Emperor for his mercy. Mordecai is prideful, and desires recognition from those he considers allies.
