This is the homepage of the Mutant: Heirs of Doom Project, an english wiki project listing information about the setting in the Swedish post-apocalypse RPG Mutant: Undergångens Arvtagare ==Setting and Geography== Mutant is set in post-apocalyptic Scandinavia, called Scandi by its inhabitants, and the lands around it and the Baltic Sea, now known as the Eastern Sea by most inhabitants in the Scandi area. The Apocalypse was in what can now be considered ages ago and the world is recovering, as is civilisation, and everywhere cities and states pop up. This world is now inhabited by the non-mutated Human successors of those who hid underground, the Mutants who lived on the surface when they returned and the mysterious Psi-mutants with their fearsome powers. To that can be added the few remaining robots of the civilisation of old that now wander the world without goal or purpose. The world is of course also rich in lethal dangers in the shape of ancient Terrorobots, monsters of various kinds and even weirder freaks and anomalies. The Scandi and Eastern Sea area is dominated by three large powers, although their actual power projections is fairly limited and focused on keeping their lands together and protected, these are the Pyri Commonwealth (Pyrissamfundet), Gotland and Wulfreich (Ulvriket). Between them are large areas of unclaimed territory filled to the brink with free villages and nomad clans, as well as the occasional city state. Around the Eastern Sea lies the city-states of Ume, Sursvall, Vasa, Åhlbograd, Simris and Pråjsia, as well as smaller trading posts and villages such as Rigö, and as well as the collective Åland Isles in the middle of the sea. The grand cityNowa Warzawa lies deeper south along the river Wizky that flows out into the Sea. Deeper in on land between the Pyri Commonwealth and the Wulfreich on the Fields of Freedom lies Mos Mosel and Muntermåla in the area known as the Fields of Freedom. West of the Pyri Commonwealth lies the city-states of Goburg and Moss by the Scandi Bay, as well as Stejvhoum and Mauteinsaid (Stavehome and Mountainside) of the Albion Badgers. ==Fauna, Flora and Other Stuff== In general the contemporary man divides everything that lives around it into three groups; Monsters are the dumb animals without sentient ability that form the circle of life and all that, Mutants are sentient beings (more or less) which still aren't fully human and Miscreations which are those beings that form no rime or reason and are often creations by the ancient man as tools of destruction. This last category includes everything from gaseous beings that feed on biogas to viruses via terrorbots. This Bestiary lists a few of the most common animals, to be updated. ==History== Mutant is one of Sweden's oldest and most successful RPG lines. Starting in the 80's with Mutant, which was in large parts inspired by the American Gamma Worlds and used the BRP system. Mutant would come to bear many successors, most known Mutant Chronicles, which was translated into English and spawned card-games, several tabletop games and a (very crappy) movie. While somewhat dead during the latter parts of the 90's the name was revived in 2000 with Mutant: Undergångens Arvtagare, where the makers went back to the Old-Skool feel of Mutant 2, basing most of its setting from it. The game, still using a BRP variant, became highly successful and was printed until 2008. Mutant:UA still has a large fan-base and articles are still being published in the Swedish gaming newspaper Fenix as well as the making of several fan-projects.
