If you have D20 characters already created that you would like to convert to use with NWoD Fantasy, a good place to start is with their attributes. For characters and/or monsters with scores above 8 it seems to work quite well to map STR, DEX and CON directly to Strength, Dexterity and Stamina using the table below: {| class="wikitable" style="text-align: center;" !D20!!nWoD |- |8-9||1 |- |10-11||2 |- |12-13||3 |- |14-15||4 |- |16-17||5 |- |18-20||6 |- |21-25||7 |- |26-30||8 |- |31-35||9 |- |36-40||10 |- |41-45||11 |} INT, WIS & CHA require a little judgment on the part of the storyteller/GM/DM depending on the type of character being converted. Start by thinking about what sort of character this is and prioritizing their Physical, Social, Mental categories. I.e. If I'm converting a [http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/monstrous-humanoids/gargoyle Common Gargoyle]: STR 15, DEX 14, CON 16, INT 6, WIS 11, CHA 7. I can see clearly that it's traits are weighted Physical then Mental and lastly Social. I usually map INT directly to Intelligence just like STR, DEX, etc above and leave Resolve and Wits blank for the time being. Next I decide on the Power level of the character/monster. A standard starting level character in a "Standard Fantasy" D20 Campaign has a total of 75 points of abilities distributed between STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS & CHA. A standard starting level character in nWoD has a total of 15 points of traits, 4+5+6 dots distributed between the nine traits Strength, Dex, Stamina, Inteligence, Wits, Resolve, Presence, Manipulation & Composure. This gives us the beginnings of a ratio for equivalent power levels between the two systems. Add up the D20 Character's total ability points and divide that number by 75. Then times the result by 15 to get the total number of trait points for the character in nWoD There is also a "Potency" table on p142 of the "[https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/168428/Chronicles-of-Darkness Chronicles of Darkness]" nWoD core rule book which assigns ten "Potency" levels to various total trait ranges. For example a traits total of 30 is potency level 4. Have a look at your player characters' traits totals and then decide how much stronger or weaker the character your converting should be compared to them. This provides you with a good double check to make sure the converted character will fit into your campaign the way you want it to. Once you've determined the trait point total for the character your converting you can simply add up the traits for Strength, Desterity, Stamina and Inteligence that you've already allocated and then disperse the remaining amongst the characters Wits, Resolve, Presence, Manipulation and Composure. For scores below 8 things get trickier. This page is a work in progress. Please add to it if you have good ideas. ;-)
