==Background==

Rage. In the beginning, there was Rage. When Neana's parents were killed in an interHouse skirmish and she was placed in the care of the Temple of Fear, it kindled in her heart a rage fit to burn the universe to cinders. When the priests identified her untapped force potential, it actualy came as something of a relief: at least there was an explanation for why she couldn't feel things like the other children. And the skills and techniques they taught her helped keep her rage under control, otherwise she would have burnt out long ago. 

After many years of training, she became an Imperial Assassin, one of the claws hidden within the Imperial fist. Whenever the machinations of one of the members of the Twelve Houses grew too bold, or threatened to interfere with the imperial will, Neana would be dispatched as part of a small team to prune the branches of the aristocracy. Neana dedicated every kill to her dead family, and each murder helped to briefly ease the Fury inside her, until it reached the point where her life became a series of empty, raging moments between missions. And then, one day, she stumbled upon a heretical holocron in the possession of one of her victims, and its words filled her with a strange, terrible new emotion... Just for a moment, she allowed herself to hope that there might be another way of living.
