Glasken's life began in death, for he entered Creation at the expense of his patrician mother. At first, the mortal physicians believed him to be dead as well, until he split the air with an inauspiciously ghostly wail. As he let loose his first cry, his healthy pink face drained of colour, and the small patch of chestnut hair was shocked white.
Despite this sickly appearance, House Nellens took care of Glasken. Quick thinking minds in the House began to play off his bone-white skin and sunken, black eyes as symptoms of a weak constitution, rather than the damning taint of the Underworld. This pallid little babe was a sound investment for a House seeking Dragon-Blooded of any kind to add to its ranks, for his father was the Exalted son of an Exalted son, and had cost Nellens a dear dowry. Glasken was raised well, first by governesses, and then attending the Golden Academy of Proper Knowledge, one of the most prestigious primary schools on the west coast of the Blessed Isle.
As a youth, Glasken quickly figured out how best to gain sympathy from his classmates, his teachers, and his guardians. Though often the cause of trouble, it always seemed that somebody else was ready to defend the "poor boy." While Glasken was never as sickly as he played, he was never the strongest or the fastest. When (Elemental Dragon of Air) blew the Exaltation through him like a sudden storm, however, he found that his physical power was now a match for his sly cunning.
Soon, Glasken enrolled in the Heptagram, where he was an average student, never reaching too far beyond his classmates. Despite the initial misgivings of his teachers, they found him pleasent to be with, and his deathy visage was indeed accounted for as the lasting effects of a childhood of sickness...
(...to be continued with all the prosiness at a later date.)
Look, Joe, here's the three main things you should know about Glasken:
1) He's not, or at least, he wasn't, a malicious or mean guy. He was just a little unaware that anybody else might be hurt by what he was doing.
2) Honestly, he was shocked that Lemorel was so incredibly enraged by his "harmless dalliances," and feels that he is, of course, the wronged party.
3) He's a very likable guy, honestly. You want to go out and have a beer with him and shoot the shit. Unless you've been shown the other side of his bullshit.
Honestly, in the failed-romance backstory, looking at it objectively Lemorel is really the bad guy.
