== Description ==
"The goal of a peacemaker is getting both parties to see that they're really very much alike," Hank's late father would tell him when in a sour mood. "The problem with that is that long before the peacemaker gets to that point, he's already realised himself that both parties are really very much alike - that's to say, they're both selfish, self-righteous, and not all too bright."

Having followed in his father's footsteps as a Child of Gaia, Hank can only say that the old man was right. Even when he's in a good mood he's feeling increasingly sure that tribe will battle tribe and werewolf will battle human right until the moment when the Wyrm devours them all. When he's in a bad mood, he feels that that moment can not come soon enough, because at least once the Apocalypse has come and gone there'll be some peace and quiet in the universe. His relatives tell him that it's being born under the waning gibbous moon that makes him so brooding and resentful. The shrink he got dragged to back in high school called it "pathological depression." Potahto, potayto.

Still, it is no more in his nature to give up than it is to maintain good cheer, so whenever he drags himself out of another bout of hard drinking and self-pity, he finds himself making "just one more try" to talk everyone around and inspire the sort of harmony and unity that will allow good people of all kinds to close ranks against the true enemy. He listens to people's problems and is quick to offer sympathy and understanding, and believes strongly that what everyone first and foremost need in order to come to reason is to feel that their pain is being acknowledged and that their voice is being heard.

Hank makes an extremely modest living as a traveling country singer, signing up to play in small towns and trying to bring a sense of solace and courage with his music. Recently, he has arrived in Bakken, and found the place in dire need of someone to soothe away the anger and bitterness floating beneath the surface - or, in the unhappy but not unlikely event that that proves impossible, to face the spiritual fallout of those negative feelings with claw and fang.
