Themyscira is a tiny slice of paradise. Really tiny. You could ride across it in a day. Most Amazons are content with their home, the rest have no choice but to learn.

Niké was in the latter group. She'd long given up girlish dreams of seeing the world beyond Themyscira when a magical storm ravaged the island. Washed out to sea she awoke in the strange land of California. Ever since she's been looking for a way home.

But...

But if she were really being honest (and she sometimes is when she's had too much whisky) she's not sure she wants to go back. In a few short years travelling America she's seen more than she dreamed possible. It hasn't all been pretty of course but it's all been new! Man's world has something Themyscira could never offer, the thrill of exploration. In her travel's she's gained something of a reputation for herself as a wandering bounty hunter. Some people call her a hero, other less charitable folks call her the Fury.
