**'''Young One'''. Nature spirit. Intensity 2. (Friendly). Fetish = doll of a calf.

Young One was one of those spirits that was never born. At the birthing time, she was with the other calfs, but she was so playful, so interested in gambolling about in the snow, that it was only when she tired that she realised there was no young one for her to inhabit any more, they had all been taken. But Old Joni* (the shaman) was watching over the herd and Old Joni wouldn't just let a calf be left in the snow like that with no body to inhabit. So she told Noaidi, who was then still a young woman, to make a calf doll out of straw and tufts of fur, then she sang a song to Young One that told her Noaidi was now her mother.

Young One increases Noaidi's First Aid skill by one grade (or 20% if we wish to make it simple). She will lie with the patient, keeping them warm, licking their wounds, will snuffle at the wounds to tell Noaidi what is wrong and so on. As a bonus, she can help resist cold - we can see the mechanics of that later.

***Beauty in Thought was a gift from Meeyara, one of the naiads that lives in the glacier wall. Noaidi has never understood the reason for the gift, but few have ever understand much of what the naiads do anyway, and she knows little of Beauty in Thought except that it radiates a great love for the healer and does all it can to protect her. Noaidi understands the spirit to have originated from some place of great magical power in the Land Above.
***Extra effect: for hours, or even days, after Beauty in thought acts to protect Noaidi, Noaidi is radiant, as the spell Glamour.

***To make this a bad-ass knife-fighting spirit, we can simply give it an attribute boost of +2 damage to knife fighting. But if you are amenable, we can make it really bad-ass by adding in a Special Effect (usually for a 4 intensity spirit) with some conditions: Noaidi can spend a magic point, upon initiating a combat, to give her knife an automatic Bleed effect upon her first successful strike (in addition to the +2 damage). She is in effect telling her spirit she will give it blood. The deal is that she will have to give it blood even if she doesn't strike - her own, for example. Failure to do so will release the spirit from its fetish. And the fetish is trouble, we can make in an npc if you don't mind that (to offset its elevated power).
***Koli was a slaverous wolf spirit that one day set upon the herd. Fortunately, Noaidi was able to summon Old Joni from her tent in time to take the spirit on and, ultimately, pin it down and bind it into a fetish: a bracelet of wolfs' teeth.

But her spirit was waiting for Noaidi, showing her where her body lay, for the woman to pluck some feathers, and saying that she wished the woman to show her her own travels now.

***RumTum is a fragment of the Cosmic Dancer. It allows you to Demoralize others as per the spell, but using your drumming skill (not your folk magic as it isn't folk magic - poorer skill rating, but costs no magic points). It also allows you and allies a 20% boost to Willpower rolls (or Endurance) where these can be interpreted as being morale-based.
