Brightly-Burning Sky and her brother, Painted Fox, were raised by their mother—her husband had died, killed by a member of the Hell Clan, when the children were very young. Their mother had discovered within herself the strength to support her children on her own, and eventually joined the Jade Dragon Society as a result; Brightly-Burning Sky and Painted Fox were initiated into the Society as well.
