Dr. Aeneas Markos once had a relatively normal life as a college professor. After the abduction of his brother by other-worldly beings, he threw himself into the study of the occult, hoping to recover his sibling by combining his expertise in physics with his new-found knowledge of the Mysterious. As a result of an experiment gone horribly wrong, he was transformed by strange newly discovered para-dimensional energies known as "omicron rays." Though still devoting himself to finding his brother, he has come to take seriously the great responsibility that comes with great power, and does what he can to aid those in need.
