Concept: Reluctant Paragon

Age:  23

Ht: 6'0"

Wt: 190 lbs

Eyes: Bluish silver

Hair:  Whitish silver

Gabe is a tall athletic guy.  Since his change he's taken to wearing a hat or beanie to keep his odd colored hair covered up, but then again, he's in a band so people expect a little oddness.  To cover his eyes he wears brown contacts or sunglasses.  He's a generally laid back type.  On the average day, he'll be wearing a t-shirt and jeans with a pair of beat up sneakers.  Gabe is attractive and very charismatic.  People are just drawn to his calm, confident demeanor.  While he's aware of his own attractiveness, Gabe has never liked playing with girls' feelings, although he has had his fair share of girlfriends.  He's always believed that honesty was the best policy

As Perihelion, well, he hasn't really decided yet.  While Gabe's had his powers for a few months, he hasn't actually had the opportunity to use them in a "superheroic" type of way.  He has a bad feeling that sooner or later he's going to have to get a costume, he's just been putting it off.  What he does know, is that anytime he uses his active powers a thin wispy silver "smoke" rolls off his body.  This has made him extremely cautious about using his powers in public.

===HISTORY===
Growing up Gabe never had a care in the world. He was an above average athlete, just enough to get a scholarship into a decent college, and he was a below average student, again just enough to get out of the decent college with a degree. He got by on his good looks and natural charisma. People just liked him, and he pretty much skated through life. No worries, no responsibilities. 

But no matter how hard you try to hide from it, sometimes, responsibility finds you. When he developed his powers, Gabe was really bummed. With the power to help so many people, he knew he couldn't just continue to skate through life. 

Gabe started a band on a whim a few years back, but since it's actually become important to him.  It's the one thing, other than being a good older brother, that Gabe actually has shown any real motivation towards.  Membership has been mercurial, but he thinks he might finally have a group that'll succeed.

Gabe is Madison's older brother, and he's quite protective.  He's there for her, even if she doesn't think she needs his help.  They developed powers at around the same time, and she's one of the biggest motivations for him to get into the superhero gig.  Her enthusiasm is just infectious.

===Battle Tactics===
Perihelion doesn't have must in the way of complex battle tactics.  He flies in and pounds the enemy into unconsciousness.  For more difficult to hit enemies, he'll use all out attack (or his blast if he can't afford to lose the defense).

===Character Growth and Development===
Gabe is a fun loving guy.  While not irresponsible, per se, he doesn't have any real ambitions for his own life.  Growing up, his dad never seemed happy with his work and always worked long hours, missing time with his family.  Gabe never wants to be like that and has perhaps overcompensated.  Over time, I'm hoping Gabe will become more responsible and possibly take on a leadership role, if not in the group, then perhaps in the community as a role model.  

Also, I'd like Gabe to eventually develope some kind of Healing power, possibly after a group member or close NPC is gravely injured.  I think this would drive home his responsibility to the group and the world, as well as make him realize the stakes of being super.  But that's a bit down the road.

===Fun Facts===
*The word "perihelion" means closest to the sun.  An exgirlfriend used it to describe the lyrics of one of his songs:  "Every step brings me closer to combustion, like the sun you're radiant destruction."
*Gabe is a big slacker, but becomes strangely resolute and decisive once he's committed to a course of action.
*Gabe has no idea he's bulletproof, immune to most mundane concerns (such as breathing), or capable of speeds in excess of the speed of light.
*Gabe never actually graduated from college.  Thanks to a glitch in the system, he walked during graduation, but he's technically 9 credits or so from his diploma...His parents still don't know.
