Back to [[Technological level]] In a way, phasing technology is really a very specific application of planar travel: It works by making matter vibrate between the prime plane and the phase plane. The phase plane differs from others in that it is relatively easy to shift into it...but all matter in it is almost immediately shifted back into the prime plane. By causing objects to vibrate between the two, phasing technology keeps said objects from fully interacting with its surrounding, resulting in various intangibility effects. Magic, mutation, and a variety of devices can cause phasing. It is believed that [[Shadow]] in particular possesses very advanced phasing technology.
