The scientists had built him some gauntlets that could drain the powers of whoever he was fighting. The gauntlets were great, now he could fight the supers on even terms. After a few more years with the Coil, he split with them and took the gauntlets. He is now on the run, as leaving the Coil is not something that is done.''
