In the beginning, the Primordials shaped Creation out of the Wyld and ruled with whim and unknown purpose. They created the gods, from the least spirits to the [[Unconquered Sun]], [[Luna]], and the [[Five Maidens]], to do the work of managing Creation while they played the unfathomable [[Games of Divinity]]. Eventually the greatest of the gods grew tired of their labor and desired possession of the [[Games of Divinity]] and revolted against their whimsical and cruel overlords. However, they were bound by their nature against direct revolt, and so they sought help. Aided by two of the Primordials, [[Gaia]], who in some sense WAS Creation, and [[Autochthon]], whose aspect was Order, they created the various forms of Exalted, the [[Solar Exalted]], the [[Sidereal Exalted]], and the [[Lunar Exalted]]. They were joined by the creations of Gaia's five children, the [[Elemental Dragons]], who were referred two as the Terrestral Exalted or [[Dragon-blooded]]. After a long-fought war, the Primordials and their followers were killed or surrendered. The dead Primordials became the Neverborn, or [[Malfeans]], unable to truly die while Creation existed. Those still alive were exiled in a prison made of their own bodies and became the [[Yozi]], and their remaining minions became the first demons. The toll of the war was high, however. The Primordials had ravaged and changed Creation in their struggle and had destroyed the [[Elemental Dragons]]. In addition, they laid their [[Great Curse]] upon those who had defeated them, twisting their own greater-than-mortal natures against them.
