''The nickname was inevitable. S. White? Either my parents knew but didn't care, or they thought it would be cute. On the other hand, it made my aesthetic choices clear: skin white as snow, lips red as blood, hair black as ebony. So yeah, I'm a goth from birth, and I rock that look. Never helped me fit in, but I didn't much care about that. It's fun to be an intriguing outsider. I'm the weird girl, the artist, the witch - it wards off a lot of dull people and draws in the interesting ones.

''How did I come to be here? Bad habits. Specifically the bad habit of hanging around in graveyards after dark. It's always the best place to sketch, in the quiet around the dead.
