“This is my father’s house!”
+
Mira grew up as the youngest child of five, to say nothing of her extended family. Often the target of bullying when she was younger, she retreated into her shell and focused on her studies. After a particularly traumatizing prank by one of her classmates, she convinced her parents to let her train to become a Huntress (despite her merely average combat ability) in an attempt to transfer schools and escape the harassment.
Elissa is the first and only child of Outis and Pamela Ithakos (nee Uberwald). Her father was already a renowned hunter in the youthful days of his career, and her mother was a scion of the wealthy and influential (if not well-regarded) Uberwald house.  He failed to return from an expedition when Elissa was just barely old enough to remember him, and has been missing (presumed dead) since.  In her father’s pace have been a veritable locust plague of gold-digging bachelors, seeking to soak off the combined fortunes of the Ithakos and Uberwald families, while her mother refuses to believe that Outis is actually dead. Fed up with the joint attempts by the gold-diggers and her maternal grandparents to excise her father’s legacy, she practiced with Polyphemus, the older, clunky weapon that her father left behind until she was able to use it to impersonate his ‘ghost’ and send the suitors running.  The next year, she enrolled in Beacon, boldly including the incident in her application.

Prior to her forceful dismissal of the ‘suitors’, Elissa attended Sanctum Academy, earning a reputation for being vocal and driven, performing well in the team exercises emphasized there, but unable to focus on anything besides the overly broad goal of diving herself to become a superior huntress.  Though not anti-social, she had few connections as much of her time was taken up dealing with her home life and training goals.  When her paternal grandfather died, she purchased a hunting hawk and named it after him, and the bird has heard many things she would tell nobody else.  Fortunately, it's not a parrot.

During her time at Sanctum, she qualified with (and set aside) a school record of ten different weapon configurations, discarding them and starting over when she couldn’t rise to the top bracket. Every year that she was eligible, Elissa competed in the Mistral regional tournament, always placing fairly high but never managing to escape the shadow of the irritatingly perfect yet impossible to hate reigning champion - even finally mastering Polyphemus didn’t give her the edge she needed to defeat Pyrrha, to her great consternation.  Why couldn’t she have been on the Marshmallow Flakes box for just.  One. Year!?

Mira is about average height, with blonde hair that extends to just above her waist. She looks rather slim, but makes up for her lack of muscular strength by being incredibly lithe and agile in combat.

Elissa is pale-skinned for a Mistral native, with soft but narrow facial features and grey eyes, framed by long, straight black hair usually worn unadorned or tied into close-hugging braids. For combat, she wears a mantle of aged bronze and blue leather accented with hawk feathers died in matching colors.  The grey traveling cloak she often wears over it is accented around the shoulder with brown feathers.  These feathers come from Aeolus, her pet hawk, which she will have with her whenever appropriate.

==Personality==
Elissa’s hyper-competitiveness is made more tolerable by not being as fundamentally selfish as it could be.  On a team, she’ll pull the weight of two, just to make sure everyone else is properly supported.  She’ll make the bully give back all the lunch money, and twist his arm until he writes out a receipt for interest owed.  She’ll go all out to get a smile out of a friend having a bad day, even if she has to look the fool to do so.  And while she’s quite happy to threaten otherworldly retribution upon people making moves on her mother for the family fortune, she’s generous to anyone who isn’t working an angle on her.
+
Mira isn't exactly shy, but still seems withdrawn much of the time. However, when around the few people she feels comfortable with, she slowly starts to warm up, even if others in the area are strangers to her; at her most social, one might not even suspect she's an introvert.

It’s only when she has nothing left to go charging after that she lets the strain and weariness show.  Or when someone reminds her of her father.

She seems able to read her hawk's reactions with unusual acuity for a human, and often uses him as a scout.

Though this may be because there's often a camera hidden in his harness.

==Weapon==
+
In battle, she almost completely changes into a bold, flashy warrior, who won't hesitate to put herself at risk for the sake of the innocent or the mission.
Polyphemus (The Bow form)

''The one-eyed king, blinded by nobody.  Polyphemus is a mechanized bow in the traditional recurve form of Elissa’s homeland.  The mechanism requires considerable strength even when the dust input is fully harmonized to its user’s Aura; without that, its operation is well beyond the limit of human strength.  Its primary mode of operation is to form a powerfully charged arrow from a Dust shell for the wielder's convenience, but it can be used to convey genuine physical payloads, such as grappling-line arrows, as well.  Part of the Dust expended in the formation and launch of the arrow leaks into the user’s Aura, limiting its total power, but the wielder is stronger for it.''
+
==Weapon: Ivory Wings==

+
The Ivory Wings are a pair of heavy pistols with the ability to transform into short swords. Originally, they were a basic pair of guns that Mira had received before even applying to Beacon, but after many near-sleepless nights researching and building, she gave them the ability to take their sword form, to give her even more flexibility in battle.
Scylla (The Right-Hand Sword)

''The ocean-eater, the inescapable whirlpool.  Longer and more slender than its sister, this half of Polyphemus’ separated form excels at channeling water-aspected Dust to send a flood of enemies to their doom.  She always weilds it in concert with Charybdis, and fights differently depending on which sword she leads with.''

Charybdis (The Left-Hand Sword)

''The hardest place; the rock of despair. Shorter and broader than its sister, this ill-omened blade impairs both the proper movement of Dust and the foul energies of the Grimm.  She always weilds it in concert with Scylla, and fights differently depending on which sword she leads with.''

==My Family Legacies==
+
==Clings to her friends==
The Ithakos hunter legacy and the Uberwald old money legacy both elevate and haunt Elissa.  Her paternal grandparents, both Hunters of reknown in their time, are lost to her now.  Her grandfather died after a long wasting away, as he pined for his lost only child; her grandmother is lost in the mists of dementia.  And, of course, her father is absent and presumed dead.  As the only Ithakos child, it's on her to carry on that legacy.  ...and probably have another generation, though this doesn't immediately appeal to her.
+
Mira has has internalized a lot of her past bullying; she feels like she'll never be good enough to stand on the same level as her friends, and tends to cling to them out of a fear that she can't make it on her own.

On the other hand, there are her maternal grandparents, part of the vast and influential Uberwald family, who wanted Elissa to embrace a more luxurious and mercantile lifestyle. She somewhat regrets taking their showers of gifts while turning her back on the path they were supposed to persuade her to, but it ''is'' her life.
+
==Stubbornly committed to justice==
 +
Having grown up being the target of countless bullies when she was younger, Mira hates seeing anyone suffer the same hardships as she did. Mistreating or harrassing people when she's around may well cause her to slip into her battle persona, long enough to at least attempt to "save" (at least, as she sees it) the target.

==Never at Rest==

==I Want To Learn From Elissa==
Elissa is frantically driven.  She's internalized always being considered less than the best at everything, and thinks people will only pay attention to her if she comes out on top.  It’s only when she has nothing left to go charging after that she lets the strain and weariness show. Or when someone reminds her of her father.
+
When Mira heard a rumor that the well-known Elissa Ithakos would be attending Beacon Academy, she took it as a sign that she was meant to go there as well. In her quest to never fall behind again, she decided to learn as much as she can from her; after all, someone as skilled as Elissa would have to make a good teacher, right?

==Notice me, Ariadne!==

Elissa needs to be noticed, and this need has, for now, fixated on the beautiful, high-achieving upperclassman.  Exactly what sort of notice she's seeking is up in the air, but because of Elissa's reckless drive, Ariadne usually notices when she's managed to injure herself.  Again.

Getting sufficient attention from another PC will likely shift this around.

Whenever Elissa makes a Strike that fills the last wound circle of an opponent, she receives two Charge dice.  If that blow ends the fight, she keeps that bonus and all accumulated Charge instead of the normal reduction by half.
