* '''Bear:''' Bear is an uplifted Chimpanzee who's good with a wrench.  Although technically he's Big Mike's assistant, Bear is the one with the business sense, and Big Mike's Garage wouldn't last long without him around to handle the day to day affairs.  Bear is also reasonably well known in the local Parkour/Freerunning circles.

* '''Michael "Big Mike" Mackenzie:''' Formerly an aerospace and mechanical engineer for the hypercorps, Mike turned to drug use after the Fall.  He spent some time in dead storage when one of his designs had flaws that got the pilot and several passengers killed.  With his job just a memory and his reputation in the gutter, Mike ended up on Mars and turned to organized crime to make a living.  He's been working for the Moderates for the last several years, and together with his assistant Bear, runs a garage not far outside of Noctis-Qianjiao.  

* '''John Lee:''' Very few people know what the man known as John Lee actually looks like.  Lee is a master of disguise and infiltration, capable of changing appearance like others change their clothes, and is known to be an expert martial artist.  He has a reputation for extreme reliability in completion of contracts, and is the man people turn to when no one else can get the job done.  Lee is a legend in criminal and law-enforcement circles, with some speculating that he’s nothing more than a myth or that his supposed accomplishments must reflect the work of a group of individuals operating under a shared identity.

* '''Gregor Raven:''' Gregor is a pimp who's attempting to make his name by breaking into the publishing industry.  Although he hasn't had much luck thusfar, he's convinced he can Sleeves in a Sylph.

* '''Derek Wifflebat:''' A petty thief and small-time drug and narcoalgorhythm dealer just competent enough to keep himself on the streets, though he lost his original biomorph years ago and has never been able to replace it with anything better than a case.  Derek loses most of the money he makes through crime with his gambling, but keeps chasing after the one big score that’s going to make him rich.  He hates the name Wifflebat, but it’s stuck to the point where even a mesh search takes some digging to turn up anything else.  The stories about how he got the name are plentiful, and each seems to be less flattering than the last.

* '''Lee Yubai:''' A bookie who's made it to middle management in organized crime, Lee has long had at least a finger in the pie of the illegal fights that take place in Pembroke Gardens, and has been as involved as serving as a manager and promoter for a few up and coming fighters.  His media ties aren't quite as current as they used to be, but he's still got a few people in the field that owe him favors.

* '''Victor Soto:''' A thorn in the side of the hypercorps and egotraffickers alike, Victor has attained something of a folk hero status among many of the dispossessed on Mars for his work in smuggling uplifts, indentures, and others in need out of bad situations and helping them to set up new lives on Mars or out in the Rim.  Victor is also one of the strongest voices against violence in the Barsoomian movement.

* '''Sun Shangxiang:''' Lady Sun is an up and coming star in the female wrestling scene.  Aided by hypercorp sponsorship, she's starting to become a well known name among fight fans in Noctis-Qianjiao.  Her Olympian morph has been heavily customized for the ring.

* '''Wang Fu Ming:''' Something of a media mogul and minor celebrity in his own right, Wang is best known for his XP reviews.  He has also, at various times, attempted to break into fashion, music, and various other trends that happened to be popular at the time (or that he was convinced were going to be the next big thing.)  His reviews can make or break an up and comer's XPs, and Wang can be counted on to know the latest gossip in Noctis-Qianjiao.  Sleeves in a Slyph.

==Independents and Others==

* '''Tarun Singh:''' Tarun Singh made his way to Mars in the first years after the Fall.  While he's known to have pre-Fall military experience, it isn't something he talks a great deal about.  These days, Singh is the owner and main bartender at the Black Water Bar, one of the better known watering holes (and a semi-official neutral ground) in the Downside.  The beers he brews have a good enough reputation in Noctis that there's little question he could make a good living selling them Upside, but he's never shown any inclination to move.
