Shadowjack's house rules for Mongoose Publishing's version of ''Traveller''. If you're in one of my games, these are the rules you'll have to deal with; don't worry, they're not that drastic. You'll also have to deal with the fact that I'm the kind of person who is amused by this page title.

Notes, house rules, and modifications for Mongoose Publishing's version of ''Traveller'' (affectionately referred to as Riki-Tiki-Traveller), as well as other versions of Traveller.

Official notice stuff: This material is compatible with the Traveller SRD, and is of purely unofficial origin. Traveller is a trademark of Far Future Enterprises, inc, and is used under licence by Mongoose Publishing.

=== Injuries ===

Damage may be taken off of one's Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, ''or Intelligence'' scores. Reduction of three attributes to zero places one in critical condition; one will almost certainly die without prompt medical attention. Reduction of all four attributes to zero means instant death, with no chance at resuscitation.

=== Luck ===

In "cinematic" or "pulp" games, ''all'' player characters receive a Psionic Strength score, which we use instead for "Luck". As usual, this attribute starts at 2d6 minus the number of terms served, or +1 for Youth characters.

* You may opt to take damage off of your Luck score, in place of any other attribute. Your Luck refreshes completely if you change locations. (For example, if you're in a blaster fight in the garbage compactor and take a hit, you can refresh your Luck by retreating to the elevator shaft with no safety rails.)

* You may substitute your Luck for another attribute for any roll, including skill rolls for which you lack the skill! However, "trusting to luck" in this way has a major disadvantage: if you fail the roll, it is automatically a critical failure - embarrassing, complicated, or painful results. You won't die, however, because that would end the suffering too soon... which does mean that, sometimes, you will want to trust to luck even if you expect to fail.
