Just west of Flussthorpe the West River widens and rolls more slowly westwards. Standing on the path which runs along the northern bank, the river-wise lizardfolk looks out over the surging water. She sees that the river has at some time changed its course, overflowing the southern bank on the opposite shore. In the reeds opposite she spies regular shapes, turrets and frames, that might have once been buildings.
Approaching the river from the north side the Slayers find that after a short walk the ground falls suddenly onto the water. They stand at the top of an earthen cliff, 40’ in height, facing the ruins on the southern side of the river. Peering down, the monk notices a stone ramp that emerges from the water to a narrow landing, halfway up the cliff side. The dwarf guesses that there is an opening in the cliff wall directly beneath him. The entrance to the crypt, no doubt.
Approaching the river from the path the party finds that the northern, nearside bank drops suddenly and sharply onto the water. They stand at the top of an earthen cliff, 40’ in height, facing the ruins on the southern side of the river. They then notice a narrow ramp that emerges from the water to a stone landing, projecting halfway up the cliff side. You guess that there is an opening in the cliff wall directly beneath you , no doubt the entrance to the crypt you have been seeking.
Climb 10 to make your way down onto the platform.

The bank is stony here, and a large arched opening leads from the platform directly into into the riverbank. Ornate carvings adorn the archway.

A foul stench emanates from within.

The passage ends in a broad chamber from which two smaller galleries continue into the darkness.

Spot to see stuff on the opposite shore , climb 10 to get down, knolwedge to read the carvings around the entrance door...

[spot will also detect friezes in the rectangular chamber. A bustling river town with low towers and ornate gables. Boats passing to and forth before loaded wharves. Visible in the tallest tower an over-sized, stylised figure, no doubt a Bürgermeister or Alderman, peers from a window. There is something odd about the figure's appearance. His teeth and eyes are overlarge.

Anpother frize shows a fast fleeing skip, filled with pirates. a fang-toothed man, perhaps the same figure as the alderman, stands near the prow with a long spear.

On teh platform in teh chamber centre the a smallish boat, or the model of a larger baot, rests. Seated on a throne on its rear deck a skeletal figure rests... Looking closely the observer sees long fands. the boat is loaded with urns , chests and bolts of once fine cloth.
