The name combines the Arabic words *"Al-Barq"* (البرق, meaning "lightning") and *"Riqan"* (رقان, an archaic term for "scorching winds"). Together, *Al'Barqan* evokes the sudden, violent sandstorms that strike like lightning, leaving the desert cracked and lifeless in their wake.
