Going by his English he's apparently of British descent but his weathered skin has been burned so dark he could almost be mistaken for a native. Also speaks Amharic fluently and broken Italian, with a smattering of pidgin trade dialects. A survivor of the fighting in the Second Italo-Ethiopian War who fled west to survive after the nation fell His loyalties still lie very much with Ethiopia and its exiled Emperor Haile Selassie the First, but until a chance to re-establish the Empire arises he's perfectly willing to work with British intelligence to fight the hated fascist no matter what their nationality is. A very private man, he doesn't discuss his real past and rather enjoys inventing (or borrowing) fanciful but contradictory tales of his deeds.) He gained his powers sometime in 1937 or '38, most likely by passing through an area contaminated by excessive vril radiations. It took him months to even notice that he'd been changed, and there's still nothing to give him away as truly superhuman rather than just very tall and fit - until you see him in action. He's as fast as a nervous cobra and is a sharpshooter without peer even with the heaviest guns, but that could still be merely mortal.
