[[Savage_X-COM | Back to Main Page]] Any character is now eligable to take Arcane Background: Psionics on Page 148 of the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition book, with various other power edges as well. Using a psionic power requires a psi-amp to be held in one hand. Future developments may make psi-amps that are more powerful. Modifications are as follows: <br> All attacks described as telepathic and biokinetic only function organic targets. Telepathic abilities require the target to be capable of thought.<br> All psionic abilities are typically accompanied by swirling waves of colored energy as they gather power from the field of psionic energy permeating the planet. The most common color is purple. If the power affects another, there will be a visible connection from that subject to the wielder. The psionics check can be made at -2 to conceal this<br> ===Core Powers=== * Arcane Protection is named Psionic Protection * Banish is available, but can only target entities composed solely of psionic energy or fueled by it (such as zombies) * Barrier creates telekinetic walls of psionic energy * Beast Friend is a telepathic ability * Blast is a telekinetic explosion of force, and deals d8 damage instead of d6 * Blind consist of telepathically shutting down vision centers of the brain * Bolt is known as Soulfire, and is a telepathic strike against the target’s brain. It cannot affect a non-organic target and ignores all armor * Boost/Lower trait is a biokinetic link * Burrow is not used * Burst is a telekinetic blast of force, and deals d8 damage instead of d6 * Confusion is a telepathic attack on the target’s motor control * Damage field is a telepathic aura that ignores all armor * Dark sight is a biokinetic ability that modifies the lenses and rods in the eyes * Deflection creates a telekinetic shield * Detect/Conceal Arcana is named Detect/Conceal Psionics * Disguise manipulates other people’s minds to create a telepathic illusion * Dispel is named Disrupt Psionics * Divination is a rare psionic ability that involves tapping into the psionic undercurrent of the world and trying to acquire information from the mental engrams that inhabit it. * Drain Power Points is called Drain Psionic Energy * Elemental Manipulation isn’t used * Empathy is a telepathic power * Entangle is a telekinetic power that involves shaping the environment to tie up enemies * Environmental protection creates a shielding force of telekinetic energy around the target * Farsight is known as Clairvoyance * Fear is a telepathic attack that stimulates the fear centres of the brain * Fly is a pure display of telekinetics, lifting the user off the ground * Growth/Shrink is not used * Havoc is a telekinetic burst of energy * Healing is a biokinetic ability that stimulates the bodies natural regeneration process with psionic energy * Illusion is a telepathic ability that creates visions in the mind * Intangibility is known as void walk, and sends the psionic into the void that psionic energy collects in * Invisibility is a telepathic illusion that removes the psionic from the visual center of other brains * Light/Darkness is not used * Mind link is a common telepathic ability * Mind Reading is another common telepathic ability * Mind Wipe is a powerful telepathic technique * Object reading isn't used * Protection uses telekinesis to enhance existing armor * Puppet is known as Mind Control, and is a powerful telepathic ability * Relief is a biokinetic ability. * Resurrection is not used * Shape Change is not used * Sloth/Speed is a biokinetic ability * Slumber is a telepathic ability that triggers the brain to go unconscious. Does not work on species that don’t sleep. * Smite telekinetically charges weapons with psionic force * Sound/Silence is a telekinetic ability * Speak Language is a telepathic ability * Stun is a telepathic ability * Summon Ally is an ability that creates telekinetic constructs out of psionic energy * Telekinesis is a telekinetic ability. You may have figured this out already. * Teleport is a powerful ability that transports the user a short distance through the Psionic Void, seemingly instantly * Wall Walker is a telekinetic ability * Warrior’s Gift is a telepathic ability * Zombie is a biokinetic ability that infuses a corpse with psionic energy, giving it a semblance of life for a short while
