==Bogatyr== The Bogatyr are the folk-heroes of Volkhov, brave warriors who protect the common man from the trials of the world. Unlike the heroes of other lands, drawn from the nobility, the Bogatyr are heroes of the people, and any kind soul could become one. Indeed, legends of noble bogatyr say that they would first humble themselves by becoming farmers before taking up the warrior's path. Given the class' connection with the land of Volkhov, this is perhaps fitting. Bogatyr are known mostly for their giant-like strength and claim derive all of their power from their connection with the land. Traveling outside of Volkhov does not cause them to weaken, however, nor does Volkhov's current situation. A good thing, too, since the Volkhovi need their heroes now more than ever. '''Hit Die''': d12 '''Requirements''': To qualify to become a bogatyr, a character must fulfill all of the following criteria. ''Nation'': Volkhov ''Base Attack Bonus'': +2 ''Feats'': Sunder ''Skills'': Diplomacy 3, Handle Animal 4 ranks, Knowledge (local) 3 ranks. '''Class Skills''' The bogatyr’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Appraise (Int), Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge (local) (Int), Listen (Wis), Profession (Wis), Search (Int), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis) and Swim (Str). ''Skill Points at Each Level'' 4 + Int modifier. <table id="tableBogatyr" cellspacing="0" class="right"> <tr> <th>Level</th> <th align="left">BAB</th> <th>Fort<br />Save</th> <th>Ref<br />Save</th> <th>Will<br />Save</th> <th align="left">Special</th> </tr> <tr> <td align="center">1st</td> <td>+1</td> <td align="center">+2</td> <td align="center">+0</td> <td align="center">+0</td> <td>Feats of Strength, Land's Health</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center">2nd</td> <td>+2</td> <td align="center">+3</td> <td align="center">+0</td> <td align="center">+0</td> <td>Hero's Courage, Wild Empathy</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center">3rd</td> <td>+3</td> <td align="center">+3</td> <td align="center">+1</td> <td align="center">+1</td> <td>Giant's Arms</td> </tr> </table> '''Class Features''' ''Weapon and Armor Proficiency'': Bogatyr gain no proficiency with weapons or armor. ''Feats of Strength'' (Su): The bogatyr can, as a free action, gain an enhancement bonus to strength-related tasks (including strength checks and damage rolls) equal to his Bogatyr level. The bonus lasts for the length of one task, no matter the duration, and can be called upon once per day per bogatyr level. ''Land's Health'' (Ex): At 1st level a bogatyr gains immunity to all diseases, including supernatural and magical diseases. ''Hero's Courage'' (Su): Beginning at 2nd level, a bogatyr is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). ''Wild Empathy'' (Ex): Beginning at 2nd level, a bogatyr can improve the attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check made to improve the attitude of a person. The druid rolls 1d20 and adds her druid level and her Charisma modifier to determine the wild empathy check result. ''Giant's Arms'' (Ex): At 3rd level, a bogatyr is treated as a Large creature for purposes of the size of weapons he can wield and his natural reach. He is not considered Large in any other way. '''Class Options''' Female bogatyr are often more known for their bond with animals than their great strength and may choose to substitute the Feats of Strength and Giant's Arms class features for two Animal Companions, using her character level as her effective druid level for the first and her character level -4 as her effective druid level for the second. ---- [[E6: Legends of the Phantom World]]
