=BACKGROUND=

When she was much younger, Erin was quite the athlete-- acrobatics and track and field, field hockey, soccer. But then came the accident-- a car crossed over an extra lane when merging into traffic, crashing into her family's van, forcing it directly in front of a freight train.

It's a miracle that no one died, but Erin was critically injured, and her left food had to be amputated. Her athletic career was clearly over...

But it wasn't.

Erin was not going to stop. She persisted through physical therapy with a fire unseen by anyone before. If she couldn't be as fast as she was, she'd be the fastest she could be. No matter what.
