Sunari

Back Top ---- ==Physiology== ===Appearance=== Sunari are a race of anthro gryphons. Standing a little over 2 meters tall, these beings possess the upper body of hawk or eagle and the lower body of a lion. Their great wings project from the shoulder blades of the body, each one having a length from a simple 1.6 meters to a boastful 1.8 meters (on average). They also sport a rather athletic (if considered somewhat feminine by other species) body at a approximate 150 kgs on average. A special gifted sub-class of Sunari, known as the Mageborn, have innate abilities that allow them to assume the form of a nonanthro gryphon, as well as a humanoid being (More 'human' in appearance, but sporting obvious differences). ===Locomotion & Manipulation=== Sunari tend to be very agile, but not necessarily 'graceful'. Some Sunari are capable of walking through an antique store without the slightest brush of a wind chime, and some will find themselves paying for everything in the store. They also have three fingers and a thumb ending in noticeably sharp talons. Their wings do work, but without magic to provide adequate lift, they can merely glide short distances reliably, and if they must go up, they can fly even shorter distances. It should be noted that only those Sunari with very little magical skill are incapable of casting a levitation spell to assist 'true' flight. ===Communcation & Interaction=== Sunari possess a complicated language of body gestures, whistles, clicks, and shrieks in their native form. But most Sunari also possess the magical means of making themselves understood through translation spells or a magical version of telepathy. ===Body Chemistry=== Sunari have copper-based blood, and a calcium-based, hollow skeletal structure. Their bodies' immune systems, as well as skeletal structure and 'skin' are reinforced by their innate magical qualities. If they are left in a null magic environment for more than an hour, their bodies will simply shut down and die. ===Senses=== The Sunari sense of sight is far superior to humans, with telescopic vision up to 20x normal and a high degree of color definition, but limited night-sight. Hearing is nearly human level, but with some recognition of subsonic sounds. Senses of smell and taste are human level. Sense of touch is somewhat limited along the arms and wrists due to avian scaling, but touch in the palms is approximately half that of human sensitivity. ===Lifespan & Lifecycles=== Due to the magical nature of Sunari, they have no known 'life span'. The oldest known Sunari (and still living) is roughly around 380 years old, and possibly older since he lost count. Young Sunari are considered mature at 12 years, and will be as healthy and youthfull looking till perhaps their 180's, where 'aging' becomes more noticeable. Sunari may very well live indefinately, barring injury or fatal illness, so long as they have magic to sustain them. ===Combat Capabilities/Natural Weapons=== Sunari possess two primary means of defense. Firstly, their feet possess razor sharp, retractable claws like felines. The fingertips also end in avian-like talons, which are normally blunt-tipped, but through natural magic can extend to almost two inches and gain a lethally sharp edge and hook-like shape to them. A Sunari’s beak can also be ‘molded’ in a similar fashion so that the edges become deadly sharp. Finally, all Sunari possess at least some magical talent, and can call upon this magic to defend themselves in a wide array of methods and manners. ===Special Racial Capabilities=== As mentioned before, all Sunari possess at least some magical talent. Some however are born with extreme magical capability and skill, and these are known as Mageborn. In a ritual that occurs at adolescence, the Mageborn are magically bonded with a Magi Stone. Within this stone is fused the essence of a Sunari Esper, the spirits of the Elders who sacrificed their physical bodies to transport the Sunari to their new home. ===Magic=== ===Psionics=== ===Other Abilities=== ==Society== ===Cultural Psychology=== ===LANGUAGE=== ===Naming Protocals=== ===Social Mobility/Status/Rank=== ===Cultural Subgroups=== ===Governments=== ===Overall Attitudes=== ===Rituals & Taboos=== ===Morality and Codes of Ethics=== ===Fashions & Manners of Dress=== ===Allies=== ===Enemies=== ==History== ===Historical Overview=== ===First Contact=== ===Empire and Colonization=== ---- Back Top
