Back to [[Shadowlands Schools]] ==Shokosu War College == by Atarasi Jitenno Always ready for war, this family trains constantly for the day they will be let out onto the field of battle. They were born from the womb of war, and that is where they shall die. The bulk of the Legions are drawn from the strong Shokosu Bushi, making them some of the most feared legions in the Empire. When the Shokosu come into the fight, many lesser opponents will simply acknowledge defeat, rather than prolong the inevitable. They are very pious, their founder having been ferverously dedicated to Fu Leng, she instilled this strength of faith in all her armies and followers. Upon her death, she herself became one of the first Fortunes of the Obsidian Empire, strengthening their faith even further. :'''Benefit''': +1 Strength :'''Lost Honor''': 3.0 :'''Skills''': Defense, Kyujutsu, Theology, Battle, any weapon skill 2, any one High skill :'''Outfit''': Katana, wakizashi, bow and 20 arrows (any type), any two weapons, heavy armor, helm; kimono and sandals, small statue of Fortune or ancestor, traveling pack, 5 koku '''Techniques''' '''Rank 1: Always Ready for War''' :The Shokosu Bushi live for battle, and are the strong Right Hand of the Daigotsu Dynasty. In combat you are never considered flanked and opponents gain no high ground bonuses against you. While using the School Weapon Skill, opponents must make an additional Raise to disarm you, and you add your Water Ring to all damage rolls. '''Rank 2: Crush the Opposition''' :Mass combat is the goal of the Shokosu Bushi. When outnumbered in combat, you gain a number of Free Raises on any Bugei Skill rolls equal to the number of opponents you are outnumbered by. When you spend a Void Point to increase your TN, it is increased by 10 + the number of opponents you are facing, instead of just 10. '''Rank 3: Strength is Our Right''' :The Shokosu Bushi becomes a terror on the battlefield, slaughtering her opposition. You gain an additional attack per round. When you kill an opponent, you may spend a Void Point to create a Fear effect against all enemies that witnessed you make the kill. The Fear strength is equal to your Water Ring. '''Rank 4: Power of War''' :The first Shokosu was a descendant of the Crab Clan, and her persistence lives today in her children. When spending a Void point to ignore wounds, you ignore an additional number of wounds equal to twice your Insight Rank. While using your School Weapon Skill, it now takes two additional Raises to disarm you, and you add twice your Water Ring to damage rolls. This replaces the benefit gained at Rank One. '''Rank 5: Dominate the Field''' :The full fury of a Shokosu style master is almost impossible to stand against. You may now Raise for an additional attack for every attack per round you have while using your School Weapon Skill. While in the Full Attack posture, the number of Free Raises gained against you is reduced by your Honor Rank. When you use the Rank 3 Fear ability, the Fear is now equal to your Strength, rather than your Water Ring
