Sorcerers of Sherman Oaks is an American comedy television series developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, serving as a spinoff[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinoff_(media)] to Wizards of Waverly Place[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizards_of_Waverly_Place]. It aired on Disney Channel[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Channel] for four seasons between October 2021 and January 2025. Based on characters created by Todd J. Greenwald[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_J._Greenwald], the series stars Amanda Santiago, Jake Mitchell[https://openlegend.heromuster.com/character?s=jakemitch600], Jason Chung, Mia Spencer and David Henrie[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Henrie]. Elinoff, Thomas, Selena Gomez[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selena_Gomez], Henrie, and recurring Director AndyFickman[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Fickman] executive produce[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_producer] the series alongside Gary Marsh[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Marsh] and Jonas Agin. =Premise= Gina Rodriguez, Peter Daniels, and Mark Lee are all teenagers from the neighborhood of Sherman Oaks[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman_Oaks,_Los_Angeles] in Los Angeles, California who all develop magical powers around the beginning of their freshman year in high school. The reason why is explained when they are all found and brought together by Justin Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizards_of_Waverly_Place]. It turns out the teens are part of a new phenomenon that the Wizard community has only recently discovered. Otherwise normal humans with no apparent wizardly or other supernatural ancestors in their family history who spontaneously develop magical capabilities during adolescence. Dubbed sorcerers, such individuals always have at least one innate magical ability, called a Talent, and are not only capable of learning spells but are also able to cast most spells at full potency without a wand or other channeling tool. There is no known cause for the emergence of sorcerers but there are several competing theories of varying plausibility. After some deliberation about the matter, the Wizard Tribunal decided the best policy regarding sorcerers was to integrate them into Wizard society. Alex Russo, now on the Tribunal, had spearheaded that policy and recruited her brother Justin into becoming part of the newly established mentor program to teach sorcerers about magic and the supernatural. =Cast and characters= ==Main== *Amanda Santiago as Gina Rodriguez, one of the popular girls at Sherman Oaks High who first develops invisibility *Jake Mitchell[https://openlegend.heromuster.com/character?s=jakemitch600] as Peter Daniels, a smart and geeky theater kid whose Talent is flight *Jason Chung as Mark Lee, a player on the school basketball team with telekinesis as his Talent *Mia Spencer as Alice Parker, Gina’s quirky best friend and a love interest of Mark’s.
