==Lieutenant Commander Forrester== '''Name:''' Nicholas Forrester '''Species:''' Human '''Rank:''' Lt. Commander '''Position:''' Chief Science Officer '''Past:''' Hard work is better than talent. ---- '''Virtues''' Beauty:2 Courage:4 (+1 from species) Cunning:3 Strength:2 Prowess:W Wisdom:4 ---- '''Aspects:''' ''Never Skips a Step:'' Invoke: Nick is methodical and thorough to a fault, and has the discipline to stick with time-consuming tasks without overlooking anything or attempting short-cuts. Compel: When hasty efforts are required, Nick's embrace of completeness becomes a hindrance, as he refuses to abandon his methodical ways which are his only guarantee of success. ''I'll Show Them All!:'' Invoke: Nick is determined to live up to the standards he feels have been set by his family, and refuses to let a mental challenge overwhelm his spirit, regardless of the apparent difficulty. Compel: However, this makes it extremely difficult for him to chose to cease working on a difficult problem, even in extremely hazardous conditions. ''Prime Directive:'' Invoke: concealing your identity and race on undeveloped planets. Compel: force you to abide by the local customs of a non-space-faring culture ---- '''Background:''' Nick Forrester has always had something to prove to the world since his upbringing on a Federation research colony, where his "merely" well above average intelligence left him unable to fully share in the discoveries made by his genius parents. Surrounded by evidence that it was possible for people to master the universe, he vowed that he was going to share in that mastery no matter what it took. His initial plan was to enroll in the Vulcan Science Academy, but he was unable to make the cut. Undaunted, he turned to the next most suitable institution, Starfleet Academy. He swore he would make it through no matter the consequences, which were very nearly disastrous when an attempt to get a leg up on studying with an illicit RNA sequence went awry. Since the sequencing failed, Nick's attempt at cheating was never discovered, but it did permanently cure him of the idea that there was any way to approach a difficult task apart from head on. Nick has risen slowly but steadily through the ranks during his career, with many commendations for bravery under fire, but with few published discoveries to his name. Now in his mid forties, he has just been promoted to the position of Chief Science Officer. *[[Star_Trek_Intrepid|Back]]
