The closest thing to a capital system that Hutt Space has, Nal Hutta, and its heavily developed moon of Nar Shaddaa, have been a haven for criminals in the galaxy for thousands of years. The surface of Nal Hutta is swampy and large regions are covered in gasses that are toxic to most races in the galaxy. As such most commerce happens on the planet’s moon, Nar Shaddaa. Nar Shaddaa is extensively developed, covered in towers and buildings and casinos and warehouses. Entire cultures, and some say entirely new species, flourish in its depths. Any depravity your heart desires can be fulfilled in this system.

<br>“'''The Husk'''”: Hutts are ruthless about exploiting any resources they come across and the Husk is a sign of this. Centuries ago this was a mining platform for the system’s asteroids; it’s been abandoned for generations, though, its value long since stripped off it. The carcass of the station remains an important landmark in the system, though, and many unscrupulous deals take place in its dark corridors and shattered hanger bays.

'''The Gilded Hutt''': Moderation and humility are not virtues in the galactic underworld and the Gilded Hutt reflects the wealth of its owner, Pasha Qu`olin. Pasha is one of the richest Hutts in the galaxy and rumored to be one of the shadowy figures who control the Hutt criminal syndicate; it’s undeniable that she has enough money to build the largest, gaudiest casino on Nar Shaddaa. Perched on top of the highest tower on the moon, the huge, golden statue of Pasha itself that reclines on the very peak is the first thing many first-time visitors see.

'''Guildhall''': The closest thing to justice most people find in Hutt Space, Nal Hutta is the official home base of the Galactic Bounty Hunter’s Guild. Most hunters never get closer than Nar Shaddaa, though. It’s a convenient location to turn in dead bodies (or shackled bounties), pick up a new job, and spend those credits before they burn a hole in anyone’s pockets.

'''Republic Annex''': Nar Shaddaa is the official home of the New Republic embassy to the Hutts. Clad in white stone and verdegrized bronze, the large office complex is a stark contrast to the urban-industrial decay all around it. Officially this is also the office of the Republic’s ambassador to the Hutts, a Bothan named Daig Heqot. He spends more time at the local casinos, though.

===Nar Shaddaa===

Nar Shaddaa is an ecumenopolis, the entire moon covered in urban sprawl many levels deep. This is the effective capital of Hutt Space, and as far as most people go. The moon is inhabited by criminals and refugees in equal measure and crime and corruption are the order of the day.

Scene: A crowded market with neon signs promising food, drugs, and pliable companionship. Mile-high towers with starships constantly arriving and departing. The bass beat of a club playing the latest mix, warring with the sound of a beating just outside as some syndicate toughs explain why a stall owner really needs “protection.” Glitterati with their wealth on ostentatious display attended by menacing bodyguards.

Zole Prestil: A young and vigorous Hutt, by Hutt standards, Zole runs one of the nastier slave operations. In a galaxy riven by war many needy people end up being fed and aided by Zole’s organization, ending up in debt to him. When the debts come due people can sell their goods or themselves to settle the bill. (energetic, muscular slug, unscrupulous)

Liara Curia: A powerful and well-connected information broker. If it happens in Hutt Space, Liara and the Curia know about it. The only question is, can you afford it? (matron, calculating, pragmatic)

Espa Wu: One of the bright spots of hope on the planet, Espa is the child of refugees who rose up the ranks of the dockworkers. Now she runs one of the largest, but worst-equipped, gangs on Nar Shaddaa and uses what power she has to protect refugees and others that the rich and powerful would exploit. (passionate, popular, protective)

Ritam: One of the most feted gladiators in the system. A huge, hulking Twi`lek who can either be found in the fighting pits or in the most expensive clubs. Either way he likes to settle problems with his fists. (violent, huge, outrageous)

Nar Shaddaa is a wretched hive of villainy, yet also the seat of power in the system. You can take '''+1d''' to '''acquire assets''' here, if you also accept '''+2 heat'''.

===The Rising Sun===

Hutt Space is claimed within the boundaries of the New Republic and there’s an official ambassador on the planet, so there has to be protection for the ambasador. The Rising Sun is a Cracken-class assault carrier, a bloated whale of metal studded with dangerous weapon pods and housing a company of drop marines and two dozen X-Wings. While it can be found in orbit around Nar Shaddaa, being given a wide berth by the various smugglers and underworld figures, the Hutts find that it makes their customers nervous; so Ambassador Hegot often finds a reason to send to the outer edges of the solar system. Despite that, the ship is one of the only sources of free repairs and docking in the sector.

Scene: The tromp of boots as marines on patrol march past. Leaking tramp freighters being towed into dock. Boxes and boxes of supplies piled… just everywhere! Family groups setting up impromptu trading stalls and swapping credits with uniformed soldiers and fighter jocks. Hard-faced guards with weapons in their hands.

Yast Jor: Captain of the Rising Dawn, Jor is a smuggler who found redemption running cargo supplies for the Rebellion. He knows a lot more about setting up supply lines than controlling a front-line military vessel but he’s much shrewder than he seems at first glance. (shrewd, bold, tired)

Kasumi Ortcutt: One of the refugees who has made a more-or-less permanent home on the ship, she claims to making her way to a great destiny despite spending most of her time trading crystals and trinkets. Trades information, especially on the distant past. (passionate, strange, religious)

Rocco Vas: Captain in charge of the marines on board the vessel, referred to as commander so as not to conflict with Jor’s position. While Yast is a laid-back administrator who is more comfortable behind a desk than giving orders, Vas is a hard-nosed commando who got his start in a militia during the Clone Wars. He’s been fighting and killing all his life and he judges a person by the number of notches on their knife. (military, blood-thirsty, Deveronian)

===The Cove===

Not so much a space station as a common meeting place for spaceships, the Cove has been maintained by pirates and slavers for generations. While it’s always been popular with people who find Nar Shaddaa too loud or the Hutts too slimy, the presence of a New Republic cruiser means more and more pirates use the Cove for their own purposes. While the location moves regularly, those with tenacity of contacts can find out where it is.

Quick bets taken on an open brawl between two captains over slights. Blue-white sparks of maintenance workers welding on a new ship. Fresh water misting over rows of hydroponics. Two ships hang near each other in the dark, tethered by a web of cables.

Kai Quag: Mid-level Cobalt boss. Arranges protection for Cobalt smuggling runs and meets with potential clients at the Cove. (cautious, charming, confident)  

Conflicts are rampant, but by Banshee’s decree no murder is allowed. Those needing to settle blood feuds resort to kidnapping and killing folks elsewhere
