== Civilization ==

Orphan is one of the [[Starfall:_Stellar_Nations|Stellar Nations]]. Sanctus and Lenetra both containe native  primordial life.  Sanctus has been fully terrafromed into an earth like environment, inhospitable to its native life.  A few biological reserves have been maintained to prevent the native life from going extinct.

== People and Culture ==

The people of Orphen have a tendency to become depressed and dramatic.  Because of these traits they have developed an unflattering reputation for morbidity.  Despite their somber demeanor, Orphens also value the finer aspects of creature comforts.  Artists, poets, and performers are renowned here, and many of the upper classes enjoy a lifestyle that borders on decadent.  The people are known to act aloof and distant seemingly focused on other matters.

Solar is the most commonly spoken language people, however many of the citizens are also bilingual.  Pale skin and dark hair are considered attractive, but many variations are present.

Of particular note, is the domestication Solar lions.  These giant cats were brought to this system by its first inhabitants and have become common companions for many inhabitants of Orphan.    

== History ==

Orphan was one [[Starfall:_Epic_Virus|Exodus]] Systems.  After its founding in around 2138 it was quickly conquered by [[Starfall:_Eberon|Eberon]] in 2178.  It remained an enslaved colony of the Eberion Empire until after the [[Starfall:_Stellar_War|Stellar War]] in 2212.  Since that time Orphan has become a member of the [[Starfall:_Port_Freedom#Galactic_Senate|Galactic Senate]].
