Facing the Void on the prow, the Cathedral of His Countless Martyrs is large enough for the whole crew to fit in. this holy place is dedicated to each martyr and imperial saint, though only major ones from the Segmentum Obscurus are named or represented on sculptures. Glorious Deeds & Doppëlbrennt On the marble floor, is carved the name of every rating who served on board. On the columns, are also etched the name of any crew who did heroic deeds. It is usually done after their death, but this prestige is sometime offered to someone alive. Such a person is called a Doppëlbrennt, or “double-engraved”, and is welcome with religious respect by anyone on board. When someones dies on board, the corpse is ritually thrown to feed the fishes in the Garden of the Righteous. the wicked and mutated -even those still alive- are sent as a sacrifice to the the fiery plasma heart of the starship. The Holy Order of the Watchers in the Dark The mendicant order of the Watchers In the Dark is in charge to choose who must be honoured. Dedicated to Saint Rybel Gorth, these holy men & women wrapped in fireproof scrolls of holy text, wearing ever burning candles on their heads, can not be bribed. They takes care of the relics inside the Cathedral, and walks among the crew everywhere in the ship, preaching, offering blessing, medical cares and postal services in exchange of food & water. == Related Links == Gravitas Forlorn Hope
