== Backstory ==


Arabella Bua is a former agent with the Raggruppamento Operativo Speciale (ROS) in Italy. She spent years deep undercover investigating the mafia, having politically maneuvered so that her work there would rocket her through the ranks to top brass of the ROS.

Over time, her cover and her real identity blended too much when she got too close with her husband, a high-up member of the mafia. When the inevitable raid came on the organization, she tried to give him enough warning to get out safely. While this shortened his jail sentence, it also outed her, and she ended up marked by the underworld and politically doomed within the Carabinieri. A public media storm would have been too embarrassing for her superiors after the victory of the raid, so she was allowed to quietly withdraw from the career to which she'd dedicated herself.

No longer safe or welcome in Italy, she moved to the Canary Islands where she spent the next few years becoming increasingly bitter and jaded, using her skills to con rich tourists. She's been using their money to continue her investigations into some shady old money in the criminal underworld. It was during these investigations that she met Klarfeld when the trails overlapped.

Most recently, the trail has led to London, where her current mark just happens to have a penthouse suite.
